Job Purpose Provide specialist knowledge to support colleagues in the effective management of patients with diabetes within an in-patient and outpatient setting. Provide ongoing professional and clinical leadership to deliver evidence based care as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.

Perform a diabetic foot exam and screening. Provide full medical foot care treatments for toenails and skin (Medical Pedicure) Provide skin moisturizing demonstration. Offer health teaching and hand-outs.

You must be a qualified nurse with at least 5 years post registration/ graduate experience, and hold an accredited course in Diabetes, preferably a post Graduate Diploma in a Diabetes related field.

A specialist nurse is an expert nurse with a background in a particular area, for example bowel cancer. They provide information, practical and emotional support and act as your key worker (a point of contact for you and your carers) throughout your treatment.
